She was 96. The cause was congestive heart failure, her family said. Dr. Rosenblum was the author of seminal works that helped bring scholarship and recognition to photography as a creative art form after practitioners, notably Alfred Stieglitz, had revolutionized the field by defying the conventions of subject matter and composition creating images in the rain and snow, for example, or of a pattern that the sea cut in the sand.

Real Fashion Confessionals With Designer Omar Salam

Since launching his fashion house in 2012, Omar Salam has seen a steady rise in his career. After presenting at ESSENCE Fashion House NYC in 2019, he was appointed creative director of the Frallain Group, a platform for emerging African luxury brands. In 2020 the designer made his New York Fashion Week debut for the Fall/Winter season. “My Fall/Winter show was more of a gathering of people who throughout the years have been customers, supporters, friends, and families,” says Salam about his fashion week debut.   Born in Dakar, Senegal, and a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York, Salam has built his extensive career around modernizing African fashion. This year expect his looks to be seen on the global stage as we hear Vice President Kamala Harris is a fan of the designer.  Salam speaks about the gratitude he feels with Sukeina’s milestones, past and future.

Artist Talk with Maria Antelman

Aperture Foundation, in collaboration with the photography program at Parsons School of Design at The New School, is pleased to present an artist talk with Maria Antelman. Maria Antelman is a visual artist whose work explores the relationship between technology and the human condition. Inspired by new and old technologies, Antelman addresses our society’s dependence on technology, and the way humans adapt to meet the needs of the digital landscape. Speaking about her work, Antelman states: “As we become extensions of the technologies we use, our tools change us and change the way we respond to the world. These subtle, yet deep transformations, routed in the complicated systems that machines weave around us, are my main concerns.” In this artist talk, Antelman will speak about her practice and her work featured in the online exhibition
