BARNSTABLE Two men have been charged in Barnstable Superior Court for the murder of Damian Anderson.
Norman Dias, 33, of Mashpee, was arraigned in the higher court on Monday on charges of murder, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit murder with the shooting death of Anderson.
In July, Mashpee police found Anderson, 45, of New Bedford, lying in a dead-end street with multiple gunshot wounds after a report of shots fired. He was treated at the scene but later pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital.
BOURNE The chair of the Bourne Planning Board filed a complaint with the state attorney general s office earlier this month, saying that a member of his board had violated the state s Open Meeting Law.
“I really felt I had no other choice but to file the complaint,” board Chair Steven Strojny said Thursday.
He acknowledged the situation is a distraction that is a shame and embarrassment to the board, which has many other agenda items and projects to work on.
The complaint was filed on Feb. 9, after Strojny warned member Elmer Clegg on multiple occasions that he was violating the law.

Questions have been raised over the recent delivery of replacement parts for the controversial wind turbines located just over the Bourne town line in Plymouth.
Delivery of the new parts was made via Head of the Bay Road, but some folks wondered why permission to use a town road was not secured from the Bourne Board of Selectmen. Others questioned the townâs integrity at allowing delivery through the town of parts to wind turbines that the Bourne Board of Health has called âa nuisanceâ that interfere with public health.
Notice of the delivery was posted at the Bourne Police Departmentâs Facebook page, advising residents that windmill blades were being delivered between the hours of 1 AM and 4 AM on Friday last week, February 12. The vehicles making the delivery went from Route 25 East to the East Rotary in Buzzards Bay and on to Head of the Bay Road to Keith Mannâs cranberry farm, where the wind turbines are located.
