Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Bethesda Golden Eagles grabbed the final spot in the final round of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) 10 Splash Cricket Tournament in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night, edging an aggressive Empire Nation on the “count back” rule after scores at the end of their match, played at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, were tied at 78.
This meant that officials were left with no other option but to enforce the “count back” rule which allowed them to consider the amount of runs scored by each team in the 10th over of their innings. The team scoring the most runs are declared winners.

Pigotts Crushers suffered their first defeat in the ongoing 10 Splash Cricket Competition on Sunday night following a four-wicket loss to New Winthorpes Lions at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
Playing in the feature match of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) competition, Pigotts posted 91 for seven in their 10 overs after being asked to bat by New Winthorpes.
Kadeem Henry led the charge with 27 while
Elroy Francis Jr added 22 to the total.
Jamaul Fernandez and
Shavon Moore each bagged two wickets bowling for the victors Fernandez bagged two for 24 in two overs while Moore picked up two for 15 in his two overs.

Rising Sun Spartans continued their winning ways in the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) 10 Splash Cricket tournament and kept their unbeaten streak intact when, on Wednesday, they hammered a struggling All Saints Pythons by eight wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
Winning the toss and opting to bat, Pythons raced to 84 for 4 in their allotment of 10 overs.
Malik Marcellin hit a top score of 33 off 18 balls, slamming three fours and one six.
Kerry Mentore was not out on 23 from 18 deliveries.

Crushers Get Unusual ‘Count Back’ Win Following Exciting 10 Splash Clash With Empire Nation

Pigotts Crushers made it two wins in as many matches in the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association’s (ABCA) 10 Splash Cricket Tournament when, on Tuesday, they beat Empire Nation in unusual fashion, winning on “count back” after the teams ended the contest levelled on 89 runs each.
Crushers, winning the toss and opting to bat, raised 89 for three in their allotment of 10 overs before Empire Nation replied with 89 for four in their 10 overs.
The “count back” then allowed officials to consider the runs scored per over, starting with the 10th over. The team to have scored the most runs in the over under review would be declared winners. Upon review of the final over for both teams, it was discovered that Empire would have scored 11 runs and Pigotts 12, thus making Pigotts winners of the match.
