Faridpur municipality mayor’s wife, son and neighbour killed in road crash Mayor critically injured Star Digital Report Star Digital Report The wife, elder son and neighbour of newly elected mayor of Faridpur s Nagarkanda municipality were killed and the mayor seriously injured after a bus crashed head on into the microbus carrying them in Faridpur tonight. The deceased were identified as Shanchita Sarkar (45), wife of mayor Nimay Sarkar, their son Gourab Sarkar (25), and their neighbour Md Kamal Hosen (40), reports our Faridpur correspondent quoting police. Omar Faruq, officer in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station said a Dhaka-bound bus of GS Paribahan collided with the microbus on Dhaka-Khunla Highway in Kailar intersection area around 9:15pm, leaving Shanchita, Gourab and Kamal dead on the spot and Nimay critically injured.
