Police: 17-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder After Strangling Mother In Rock Hill Hotel Room

ROCK HILL, S.C. A 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after she strangled her mother in a Rock Hill hotel room Saturday morning, police say.
Officers responded to Howard Johnson hotel, located on Riverview Road, around 8:15 a.m. to investigate after receiving a call that someone may have been murdered at the location.
The caller informed officials that her 17-year-old granddaughter came to her home advising she may have just killed her mother at the hotel. Police said they were were familiar with the 17-year-old and her mother due to events earlier in the morning.
