76 CORVALLIS, Ore. The Oregon State University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) participated in the annual Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Chalk It Up For Awareness contest hosted by the Naval Station Everett SAPR Team, April 17. This contest is held every April as part of the Navy’s Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) programs and is used to educate and raise awareness about sexual assault through sidewalk chalk art. Three NROTC midshipmen and two NROTC “Beaver Battalion” Officer Candidates collaborated on the chalk art design outside of the unit’s facility. “This event was important to me because it is a way to start conversations about the reality that sexual assault happens,” said Officer Candidate Brooke Konstanczer. “It is my hope that these conversations can bring awareness and aid in prevention efforts to stop sexual assault while also bringing courage and strength to victims in knowing that they
