The artists of Goldwell Open Air Museum present a quirky, beautiful group show at Core Contemporary

Las Vegas Weekly “Can You See What I See?” by Mikayla Whitmore Photo: Wade Vandervort For Core Contemporary gallery’s On Board, curator and artist Nancy Good has summoned the creative talents of the Goldwell Open Air Museum’s board members and their partners. In essence, the show is a family reunion, bringing together the extraordinary community of artists that has made the desert museum a must-see for all true Nevadans. “It’s a remarkable show, as I knew it would be,” Good says. “There’s all different types of art. Somehow, it all ties back to the desert that surrounds us, and it even [gives] little nods to Goldwell here and there.”

Lost In the Desert Sky will include all new music, and will be performed by Kahlor s ensemble, in remembrance of Shajarian. The film also introduces vocalist Hadi Hosseini, a former student of Shajarian s.  Across his career, Kalhor has composed music for Sajarian, and this film features all new pieces by him and tar player Ali Ashgar Arabshahi. The concert was filmed in the exquisite Mahinistan Raheb Hotel, a 200-year-old architecturally sublime historic locale in Kashan, an ancient desert city and an important stop on the Silk Road full of history.

KAFF News Coconino Girls, Boys And Flagstaff Girls Hoops Find Out Seedings In 4A State Playoffs The Coconino girls and boys basketball teams, along with the Flagstaff girls team, found out their seedings for the 4A State Playoff on Saturday. The Flagstaff Eagles are seeded sixth and will host the 11th-seeded American Leadership Academy-Queen Creek Tuesday night. The Eagles finished with a 16-2 record and a perfect 11-0 mark in the Grand Canyon Region. The Patriots went 7-8 overall and 3-5 in the 4A Desert Sky Region. The two teams played back on February 19th in Queen Creek with the Eagles winning, 63-46. The Coconino girls team is seeded ninth and will travel to eighth-seeded Estrella Foothills Wolves. The Panthers finished with a 11-3 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the Grand Canyon Region. Coconino lost twice to Flagstaff and to top-seeded Seton Catholic. The Wolves went 13-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 to win the 4A Southwest Region. On the boys side, two very familiar
