Winter Yoga at the Dairy Barn is a yoga class hosted by Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The yoga instructor, Lidia Pawlowski, explains, ”yoga sometimes is very intimidating anywhere you go, one teacher to the next can be completely different. When asked about her advice to newcomers, she said, “I just really want to emphasize doing what feels right to your body.”

The majority of Americans were embarrassed and saddened by the events of Jan. 6, 2021, at our nation’s Capitol. To their credit, Congress reconvened that same day and counted our electoral votes. We have a multitude of problems, but now we are afforded a new approach to repair and rebuild the American psyche. Hopefully it will be built on honesty and trust.
Such was the case at the end of the Civil War in 1865. America had been broken into two factions, and the healing process was daunting indeed. Some soldiers returned from war suffering from amputation, drug addiction, or mental stress. In other cases, the soldiers had died and orphans were left in need of care and understanding.
Enterprising young couple, Ross and Elaine Pattinson, have packed a lot into the last decade – establishing their successful pedigree Top Side British Blue herd, setting up a commercial dairy herd – and, most recently, diversifying into direct sales of milk to customers. In their first farming business together, the couple took on the tenancy of Temon Farm, near Brampton, right on the Cumbria-Northumberland border, in 2011. The Cumbrian-born pair first set up their small herd of Blues which, within a short space of time, was winning accolades in the show ring and achieving leading prices at pedigree sales – as well as breaking new ground in British Blue polled cattle breeding.
