Many of the challenges we faced before the pandemic not only persist, but, in many cases, have been magnified. BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. submitted his $4.2 billion operating budget proposal Thursday. Of that, more than $2.05 billion will go to education.
It also includes an effort to fund the county s recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This budget is an investment in our shared future and a better Baltimore County – with stronger schools, vibrant communities and a thriving economy, Olszewski said.

RUTHERFORD OUT, SCHULZ IN GOP RACE FOR GOVERNOR: Maryland Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford (R) has decided not to seek the state’s top job in 2022, creating a wide-open GOP primary. Hogan, who is term-limited, is set to leave office in 2023. Hours after Rutherford’s announcement, Hogan Commerce secretary Kelly Schulz released a campaign video saying she would seek the Republican nomination.
