A Baltimore County effort to supply food banks and homeless shelters with produce grown at a Cockeysville agriculture center has wasted more than $1 million and yielded a fraction of the expected food, according to a report from the Baltimore County Office of the Inspector General.
Administrators told board members Tuesday that they expect the school system’s cyber insurance to reimburse up to $2 million for direct costs caused by the ransomware attack and up to $3 million in cyber liability coverage.
Pages for the district s schools and offices were down for much of the day.

The district tweeted around 8:40 a.m. that the SchoolMessenger is experiencing widespread outages and that the Department of IT is monitoring the situation and will provide an update when available. It said the main BCPS website is hosted on another platform, so that website remained accessible.
Earlier, the district tweeted, Alert: All BCPS school and office websites are currently inaccessible.
However, users are commenting that the Schoology system is still running.
