Maryland s COVID-19 state of emergency ends Thursday

Print William Carter, WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 After more than a year of handling COVID-19 across the world, Maryland’s State of Emergency has been lifted as of July 1, allowing Marylanders to have some sense of normalcy. On June 15, Gov. Larry Hogan announced that he would be ending the state of emergency on the first of July. “Thanks in large part to the hard work, the sacrifices, and the vigilance of the people of Maryland, we have finally reached the light at the end of that long tunnel,” reads a statement from Hogan. “Each and every one of you your actions have made this day possible. I am so proud of our state, and I’m grateful to have had this honor to serve as your governor. Thank you all for being Maryland Strong.”
