Credit: Phil Yacuboski Baltimore City officials on Tuesday moved to assure residents that snow crews are ready to clear the streets this week. Mayor Brandon M. Scott said the city has $6.7 million set aside for snow removal, with 300 employees and 294 pieces of equipment bolstered by more than 300 contractor vehicles and 15,000 tons of salt. Our agencies have worked thoroughly throughout the summer now to improve and examine our snow operations, to make sure the level of service we deliver to the citizens of Baltimore is what we should have throughout this city, Scott said at a news conference. Under an agreement with Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr., Scott said city and county plows will treat roads on the city-county line rather than turn around.
