A man flew from Texas to Pennsylvania so he could punch, strangle and threaten his ex-girlfriend and her family, Lancaster County authorities said.
Tomas Martinez-Martinez was taken into custody Monday at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Maryland. The 35-year-old is charged with felony counts of strangulation and intimidating a witness, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault and terroristic threats.
Prosecutors said Martinez-Martinez threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend’s children, and punched and strangled her at a home on Quarry Road in West Hempfield Township.

A man was arrested after traveling cross-country to attack a woman in Lancaster County, according to the district attorney’s office.Prosecutors said Tomas Martinez-Martinez, 35, was taken into custody Monday afternoon at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) as he was on his way back to Texas. West Hempfield Township Police said Martinez-Martinez punched and strangled the woman at a home on Quarry Road.Martinez-Martinez allegedly threatened to kill the woman’s children and broke her cellphone so she couldn’t call police.Investigators said Martinez-Martinez and the woman were in a relationship in Texas, and she came to Lancaster County to get away from him.Martinez-Martinez is charged with felony counts of strangulation and intimidating a witness. He is also charged with misdemeanor simple assault and terroristic threats.The district attorney s office said Martinez-Martinez is in Arundel County, Maryland, and will be extradited back to Lancaster
