Bucks TV Play-by-Play Announcer Announces Retirement

By Liz Holbrook Milwaukee Bucks TV Announcers Marques Johnson and Jim Paschke (Photo courtesy of the Milwaukee Bucks). MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A familiar voice will have their last call this summer. According to a press release from the Milwaukee Bucks, current TV play-by-play announcer Jim Paschke will retire at the end of the 2020-2021 season. In an exclusive interview with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paschke says of his retirement, “After most every Bucks season when my son Mike was young, I would ask him if he wanted me to retire and be home more. “He always said no. Last summer, just before his wedding, he asked me to retire. I said yes. We agreed that I would get the Bucks through another season dealing with COVID-19. I wouldn’t expect someone new to have to do that. This decision is mine alone. It comes as I have had the privilege of broadcasting Bucks basketball for precisely half of my life,”.

Ryan Tepera Admits He Wanted to Send a Message

Chicago Cubs reliever Ryan Tepera, who is appealing his three-game suspension for throwing behind Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff, today explained what happened. It’s about what you would have expected was the reality, and frankly, I’m good with him just saying it. It was a message about the absurd level of HBPs the Cubs – and specifically Willson Contreras – had been receiving from the Brewers: Cubs reliever Ryan Tepera on Woodruff/Brewers incident: What happened on Tuesday, there was no malicious intent but it was a message that we had had enough. Tepera says he chose to send the message, but he was still very surprised by the suspension by MLB.

I m Sick of the Brewers Hitting Willson Contreras, and I m Glad Two Messages Were Sent

That had to feel good. Well, not the TWELVE hit by pitches by the Brewers, but the two-run homer that wound up winning the game. Contreras wanted to make sure the Brewers and their fans knew that the boos don’t bother him, and he was happy that he was able to send a message with his bat. “It feels good to shut them up,” Contreras said after the game, per MLB.com. “When they boo me, I don’t really care. But, don’t get sensitive when I do something like that. … Tonight, we sent a message. I think they picked the wrong guy to throw at. That was a message sent.”
