February 3 is a major day for the Disney owned Pixar Animation Studios, as it marks the anniversary of their founding as an independent company. First a division of Lucasfilm Pixar branched off into its own company in 1986 and eventually caught the eye of Steve Jobs who became a majority investor in the years before they even collaborated with Disney for the first time. Even after the release of films like Toy Story and A Bugs Life though, Pixar was still its own entity and wouldn t become a Disney subsidiary until 2006 after they d released six of their movies. To mark their extensive history as a studio they ve released a full montage of everything they ve created including their early shorts and their Disney+ exclusives! Check it out below.

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - In its first full week of release, the Netflix alternate history period drama “Bridgerton was the most-watched program on the four streaming services whose figures are publicly released by Nielsen, according to its latest report issued today.
Viewers watched 2.648 billion minutes of the series eight episodes between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3. ”Bridgerton was third the previous week, with viewers watching 1.204 billion minutes the first three days it was available.
Nielsen, which also publicly releases viewership figures for Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Hulu, released figures for the first three days that “Wonder Woman 1984 streamed on HBO Max. The sequel to 2017 s “Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot finished first for the week of Dec. 21-27, with 2.252 billion minutes watched.
Oscars: Three Women From Disney and Pixar Among SciTech Awards Honorees Carolyn Giardina Oscar Statuettes
Seventeen scientific and technical developments representing 55 individuals including three women, which may be a first in a single season will be honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with Scientific and Technical Awards. The honorees and their work, which includes advancement in hair simulation and sound tech, will be recognized during a virtual presentation hosted by filmmaker Nia DaCosta (
Little Woods) on Feb. 13 starting at 1 p.m. PT on the Oscars’ website.
Science and technology for filmmaking is an area still largely dominated by men. In fact, since 1961, only 20 women have received Scientific and Technical Awards.
