A Binghamton man is facing eight felony drug possession counts and a Binghamton woman is facing two felony drug possession charges following raids on South Washington and Telegraph Streets in Binghamton.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force say 31-year-old Myriyd Matthews and 38-year-old Renee Richards were arrested February 4 as authorities recovered over 6.5 ounces of heroin and over an ounce of Fentanyl worth about $25,000 on the street. Authorities also confiscated over $6,000 in suspected drug sale proceeds and drug packaging materials.
In addition to the drug possession counts, Matthews is charged with three misdemeanor counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of obstructing governmental administration.
Police make arrests, find drugs and guns in Binghamton residence
BINGHAMTON (WBNG) Arrest were made and drugs and weapons were seized following the execution of a narcotics search warrant on Doubleday Street in Binghamton on Tuesday.
The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force says it arrested and charged the following suspects:
18-year-old Mason Johnson Smith:
Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (sub 3), a class C felony
Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (sub 1), a class D felony
Criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree (sub 3), a class D felony

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say 29-year-old Wesley Booker was stopped on Interstate 81 at around quarter after 4 in the morning for going 104 miles an hour on the highway but took off as a Deputy approached the vehicle, ending up exiting onto Bevier Street and Broad Avenue, going over 90 miles an hour when he lost control and hit the pole at Broad and Court Streets.

Authorities say Booker and his passenger, Jasira Nur ran off and the Honda Accord burst into flames.
Booker was found nearby and Police K-9s tracked Nur to an alley where she was hiding.

42-year-olds Bernard Barns and Cora Stevens as well as 35-year-old Leroy Poole are charged with eight felony counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force raided the apartment at 296 Main Street on Monday, December 28 and confiscated around 38 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of fentanyl, 5 grams of the club drug “Molly”, also known as Ecstasy or MDMA, drug packaging materials and around $1,400 in suspected drug sales proceeds.
In addition to the drug possession and other counts, Poole had an active arrest warrant from Broome County court for outstanding felony narcotics charges from a previous Task Force investigation.
