The roadblocks will be manned by the police, Armed Forces, Rela volunteers and the Civil Defence Force.
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the roadblock set-up was among the components decided during a Penang Security Council Committee (JKNPP) meeting.
He said the state had also sent a letter to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) director-general to suggest for new low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
“This was regarding suggestions for a new PKRC at the Mara Excellence Centre (MEC) in Jawi and at the Pesta site in Sungai Nibong.
“Both locations will be able to house up to 1,000 patients.
