PINELLAS PARK Thousands lost power and several buildings were damaged by a tornado, including a home that was severely damaged, Wednesday afternoon.
Amateur radio operators reported power poles split in half and four structures damaged in the Bayou Club when the twister came through around 3:50 p.m.
UPDATE: Pinellas Park police Captain Adam Geissenberger says most of the damage was concentrated in an industrial area between Belcher Road and 66th Street along Bryan Dairy Road. There s significant roof damage, there s significant intrusion into the structures due to falling trees and limbs, but we have not seen a complete structure collapse. He also adds that no injuries have been reported. As of 7:00 p.m., Duke Energy reports about 12,000 customers without power in an area bounded by Pinellas Park, Largo and Seminole.

A tornado caused damage in Pinellas Park on Dec. 16, 2020 as a powerful line of storms moved through the greater Tampa Bay region.
The tornado touched down in Pinellas Park just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. It then reformed later in the evening over Hillsborough and Polk Counties.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning starting in Pinellas County after 3:30 p.m., calling it a large, extremely dangerous tornado.
The line of storms moved across the waters of Tampa Bay before coming onshore again near the Howard Frankland Bridge and moving through Tampa and Hillsborough County.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Warehouses and buildings along Endeavor Way, near 66th Street in Pinellas Park, suffered significant damage after a tornado tore through a two-mile span of Pinellas County early Wednesday evening.
Car windows were shattered, and businesses had walls ripped down. An 18-wheeler was knocked over on its side and roofs from large buildings laying up against fences.
We spoke to one office worker who said the bad storm turned into one that felt potentially deadly very quickly.
