The Sultanate of Oman recently imposed a travel ban on international flights to implement its ongoing Covid-19 precautionary measures.

A 140-member contingent of Bangladesh Police left Dhaka via a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines last night to join a UN peacekeeping mission in Bamako, the capital of Mali.
Deputy Commander, ANM Masuf Abdullah, additional superintendent of police, is leading the 70-member Bangladesh Formed Police Unit (BANFPU-1) seventh rotation while additional SP Saifuzzaman is leading the BANFPU-2 third rotation.
Mazharul Islam, additional inspector general of Police; Tawfique Mahbub Chowdhury, deputy inspector general (Media and Planning) and officials of the UN Affairs wing saw them off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said a press release of Police Headquarters.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all its flights bound for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for a week, as the Saudi government suspended on all international commercial flights due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The national flag carrier cancelled all its flights towards Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam from Monday, said Tahera Khandaker, Deputy General Manager (public relations) of Biman, in a press release.
As a result, hundreds of passengers have been stranded at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) as they gathered to fly before the decision. The Saudi bound passengers showed their dissatisfaction and anger at the cancellation.

Despite strict ban, several airlines including the state-run Biman Bangladesh are allegedly transporting passengers many of whom are not having corona negative certificates.
No airlines are permitted to carry passengers without corona negative certificate.
But airlines are showing lenient view on the important health safety issue risking second wave of Covid 19 across the globe.
More than 4,000 passengers of various international airlines are being received everyday at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA)
Of them, some passengers have been found to be infected with coronavirus.
In the last one week, at least 17 corona positive patients came to the airport.
