PUEBLO â The Colorado State Fair kicks off on August 27, but workers are there every day now preparing for the big event.
âWeâre really excited to actually be this close to the State Fair, and as of right now with health protocols, weâre actually able to plan for the full fair,â said Scott Stoller, the General Manager of the fair.
Stoller says it is almost strange for he and his team to admit that the fair is so close, since the venue has not had the proper event since 2019. However, he says that are ready for any changes that may come.
Healthcare providers begin administering COVID-19 vaccine for Colorado kids ages 12 to 15
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) All providers administering the Pfizer vaccine can now vaccinate Coloradans ages 12 and up, according to the latest guidelines from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Despite a recent decline in cases and hospitalizations statewide, health officials said Thursday, the highest rates continue to be among 11 to 17 year olds. Our highest rates do continue to be among those middle school and high school students, Epidemiologist, Dr. Rachel Herlihy said.
In El Paso County, at least 41 of the 113 active outbreaks reported by the county health department are at K-12 schools.
Turnout remains low at FEMA Mass Vaccination Clinic in Pueblo
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) Turnout at the Mass Vaccination Clinic at the Colorado State Fairgrounds remains low. On Sunday, only 138 people came out to get a dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine.
According to FEMA, the clinic has the capacity to vaccinate 3,000 people a day. Unfortunately, since the federal government took over operations at the clinic on April 14th, only 1,916 doses of the vaccine were administered on the clinic s busiest day.

What s going to happen after you get the vaccine are you going to get sick or are you going to miss work. We ve heard anecdotally a lot of that.

PUEBLO â Pueblo County is now operating in Level Yellow on the state s COVID-19 dial. However, since the county moved to Level Blue two months ago, the state s restrictions for each level have changed. It s been a roller coaster, said Lara Craddock, owner of the paint-your-own-pottery studio Fire Playce. We don t really know where we fit on the scale. We realize that when people come in and paint they re spending a couple of hours with us, so we figured we re probably more of a restaurant.
