Company executives met with state and local leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning. Skip Herald, CEO of EVRAZ North America, told reporters the $500 million facility will keep his company competitive with foreign steelmakers. He explained that the new mill will produce rail segments in lengths that are currently only offered by steelmakers in Asian markets.

Pueblo s unemployment rate is easing as the COVID-19 pandemic loosens its grip

As Pueblo’s job market continues the COVID pandemic-induced roller coaster ride of mass layoffs and employers ramping up hiring, there is at least one indicator of good news and that is the county’s dropping unemployment rate.  At Concentrix CVG Corp, 1228 E. Orman Ave., the former Convergys site closed March 31, impacting 107 workers, according to a Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.  Concentrix employees primarily worked as customer service agents for clients ranging from cable service to cellphone providers. They had been handling everything from customers’ billing questions to order status help.

Starting this fall, ENSCO will provide research and development, testing, engineering and training services at TTC. The Transportation Technology Center, Inc., (TTCI) reported April 27 that it would develop a new engineering and laboratory facility in Pueblo, Colo. The wholly owned Association of American Railroads (AAR) subsidiary has secured an agreement with the Pueblo Economic Development Corp. (PEDCO), which it said solidifies TTCI’s “commitment to its employees and the Pueblo, Colo., community.”
