PEORIA Peoria police are investigating the death of a man at a North Peoria home.
Spokeswoman Amy Dotson confirmed the death is being investigated as a homicide the year s first in Peoria but declined to release any information regarding the manner or death.
At 9:34 a.m., Peoria police responded to the 500 block of East High Point Place on a report of a man down inside of a home. When they arrived, they found the man with obvious trauma to his body, Dotson stated in a release
Dotson said there is no suspect information at this time, and the matter remains under investigation.
PEORIA HEIGHTS – A woman died in a house fire that began late Wednesday night in Peoria Heights, authorities said.
Jennifer A. Warwick, 45, was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. Thursday at her residence, located at 3725 N. Illinois Ave., according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
Firefighters were summoned to the shotgun-style house shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. We were told when we first got there that there was definitely a victim, Heights Fire Chief Greg Walters said Thursday morning. The smoke was real thick. There was quite a bit of flame showing out a side window. Unfortunately, that s where our victim was found.

UPDATE:
PEORIA, Ill. Peoria Police Thursday afternoon have arrested a 17-year-old male responsible for the shooting homicide on the city’s northside.
The 17-year-old male was transported to the Peoria Police Department Criminal Investigations Division for interview purposes and was then arrested for First Degree Murder. He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office was at the scene and also announced Thursday the victim was 39-year-old Leigh Herring.
