Mother charged with murder in 7-year-old daughter s fatal stabbing
GALESBURG A mother has been charged with first-degree murder for the fatal stabbing of her 7-year-old daughter on Sunday in the 1500 block of McKnight Street.
According to a Galesburg Police Department news release, the Galesburg Police Department responded to the 1500 block of McKnight Street in reference to an unknown problem with a child. Upon arrival, a 7-year-old female victim was found dead from apparent knife wounds.
A joint investigation was conducted by the Galesburg Police Department, Knox County Sherriff s office, Knox County State s Attorney s Office and the Illinois State Police.

A single vehicle accident has claimed the life of a Peoria businessman.
49-year-old Paul T. Jacob died Tuesday evening after being ejected from the vehicle he was driving on Princeville-Jubilee Road.
The accident happened just south of the Parks School Road intersection around 5:45 p.m. Jacob was the president of Brewers Distributing in Peoria.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Jacob’s vehicle veered off the road and hit a utility pole.
LASALLE – A local drug addiction foundation in LaSalle is raising concern over substances that could be circulating in the area. The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is spreading the word on New Emerging Psychoactive Substances that were recently discovered in drug-related death cases in Peoria County. According to founder Luke Tomsha, a portion of the local drug supply in North Central Illinois comes from the Peoria area. In a recent press release by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, substances discovered include Tianeptine, which mimics opioids, Xylazine, a tranquilizer for large animals, and Isotonitazene, a potent NPS opioid.
