Swift action by the police’s anti-gang unit resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old man who allegedly broke into the Korsten Post Office on Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said a security guard at the post office had heard a loud bang on the door at about 3am and went to investigate.
He was allegedly confronted by two men, one wielding a knife and the other armed with a golf club.
A DRUNK woman who spat in the face of a police officer after refusing to leave an Aldi store has been jailed. Sevana Francais had been asked by staff the leave the Aldi store in London Road, Bexhill, after drinking gin and wine while in the shop on Thursday, May 6. The 46-year-old who was drunk had not paid for the drinks and refused to leave, becoming abusive towards staff and customers. As police tried to put her in the rear of the police car, she spat in the face of one of the officers. She was subsequently arrested and charged on suspicion of theft from a shop and assaulting an emergency worker.
