Legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru after he tested positive for Covid-19. Padukone along with his wife and second daughter (Anisha) tested positive for the virus but the former badminton player needed hospitalisation after a prolonged fever.

Legendary Indian badminton player Prakash Padukone has tested positive for COVID-19 and is recovering from the infection at a hospital in Bengaluru.
The 65-year-old, who is the first Indian to win the prestigious All England Championships title in 1980, is likely to be discharged later this week. Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive, Vimal Kumar, a close friend of the legendary shuttler and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), told PTI.

They got themselves isolated but after a week, Prakash s fever didn t come down, so last Saturday, he was admitted to a hospital here in Bengaluru, Vimal Kumar, director of Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) and a close friend of the shuttler, said.

Mumbai, May 5 : Former All England champion Prakash Padukone is likely to be discharged from a Bengaluru hospital where he is slowly recovering from the Covid-19 infection.
All the members of the Padukone household, including wife Ujjala and daughter Anisha, got infected with the virus last week and are on the path to recovery. Prakash sir is doing absolutely fine, a top official of the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) said on condition of anonymity from Bengaluru. He was admitted on Saturday as a precautionary measure. His oxygen level and other parameters are absolutely fine. There is no reason to worry. He should be discharged in a day or two.
