Second arrest made in fatal Baldwin shooting

Deputies have made a second arrest in a fatal shooting Sunday morning in Baldwin.
As the investigation progressed, an arrest warrant was obtained for 50-year-old Roshonda Thomas of Franklin. Thomas was arrested on Tuesday, May 4, shortly after 4 p.m., and is facing a charge of accessory after the fact - second degree murder.
Thomas was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not yet been set.
Deputies arrested Anthony Hills in connection with the shooting on Sunday after he turned himself in to the Jeanerette Marshal s Office. He is facing a charge of second degree murder. Bail has been set at $1 million.
WORCESTER A 31-year-old man was stabbed on Main Street Sunday night, police said.
Officers responded to 805 Main St. about 5 p.m. and found the man on the street. He was treated for his injuries and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit are investigating.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop on Main Street Sunday resulted in the arrest of a Brewer woman and the seizure of crack cocaine, oxycodone and another drug, Deputy Police Chief David Winchester reported.
Officer Ryan Welch stopped the vehicle because of a defect he noticed.
After an investigation, Welch arrested Sherry Bedard, 47, of Brewer on three counts of drug possession.
“A fairly significant amount of crack was seized,” Winchester said.
Drug incidents
Officer Chris McCrillis and Officer Gerald Lowe are investigating a March 10 drug incident in which a girl, 14, “ingested something and had an adverse reaction to it,” Winchester said. Due to medical concerns, the girl was taken to a hospital.
