WALTHAM, MA A 63-year-old Watertown man is in critical condition in the hospital after he was struck by a dump truck while walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of Bacon and Main Street Wednesday morning, police said.
Police said he is suffering from serious injuries.
Just before 7 a.m. someone called police to report a crash that involved a pedestrian.
Summit County has reached a milestone in the pandemic and unlike so many the community has hit over the last year, this milestone is one to celebrate.

Officers said the elderly female, who was using a walker, was shot in the face by someone wielding a paintball gun. Police said the victim s glasses were knocked off her face and her face was covered in yellow paint. Ultimately, the man allegedly behind a traumatic hammer attack on Main Street Wednesday was nailed without anyone being injured, but police are shining a light on the incident as an example of the unpredictable nature of the meth epidemic.
At about 6 p.m., a female employee of a business in the 1000 block of Main Street was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when a man began smashing the vehicle with a hammer. When a male employee came out to help, the suspect chased them back into the building.
