The Beacon Nicole Kochensparger talks to Port Clinton Middle School grade 8 students in Hayley Saneholtz’s classroom about job application and interview skills. Nichole Kochensparger, President of Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Port Clinton, visited Port Clinton Middle School recently to outline how to achieve job application skills. Teacher Hayley Saneholtz’s eighth grade students have been working on job applications, resumes and interviewing skills in class. Kochensparger visited Saneholtz’s classrooms to talk about summer jobs for 14-year-olds, and what employers like to see on job applications and during an interview. Students at age 14 can apply for jobs at some establishments, but with limitations on work hours and job roles. Kochensparger also shared all the great things happening in downtown Port Clinton, and challenged students to spend a day at the beach this summer and visit local businesses.
