Representative of the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine Lotta Sylwander said this during the All-Ukrainian Forum Ukraine 30. Coronavirus: Challenges and Responses in Kyiv on February 8, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. “We - UNICEF - will be purchasing Pfizer vaccine through the COVAX Facility. Some 118,000 doses will arrive in Ukraine this month. They will be primarily intended for doctors,” she said. At the same time, she noted that the reason for the delay in the start of vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine is competition in the global market for access to vaccines.

2021-02-08 17:04:10 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the National Statistics Office B.Batdavaa has had a virtual meeting with Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mongolia Alex Heikens and other officials.    They had discussions about improving data quality and reporting on child-related SDG indicators, highlighting the timeliness and importance of the survey on the situation of frontline workers with children as well as the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey Plus 2020-2021.    The 3-year household water supply and sanitation facility survey conducted by UNICEF in Bayankhongor, Zavkhan, and Gobi-Altai aimags in 2019 and 2020 is continuing in 2021.    The UNICEF representative stressed the  importance of putting emphasis on the safety of the frontline workers’ children, improvement of their situation, and issues relating to household water supply and sanitation facilities. 

Mongolia s accession to Generation Unlimited discussed

2021-02-05 14:14:07 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On February 4, a virtual meeting was held to discuss Mongolia joining Generation Unlimited, a global partnership for and with young people.    The meeting brought together officials of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, UNICEF and Generation Unlimited including Minister of Labor and Social protection A.Ariunzaya, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations V.Enkhbold, former Director of Generation Unlimited Roberto Benes, newly-appointed CEO of Generation Unlimited Kevin Frey, and Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mongolia Alex Heikens. At the meeting, Minister A.Ariunzaya expressed an interest in joining Generation Unlimited as a partner.
