This has gotten out of control. When I first created The Creature, a horrid-looking half-human and half-machine with a tendency to strangle people it dislikes, I had no idea things would end badly. But now I see the error of my ways. I, Dr. Frankenstein, am hereby releasing this statement condemning the actions of the monster I created and did nothing to stop.
Thus far, however, GOP leaders in the House have been reluctant to criticize Trump supporters, like Greene, out of concern that they could alienate the former president s most ardent voters, underscoring a bitter divide over how the out-of-power party should navigate the two years until the next congressional elections.
Greene responded to McConnell late Monday with a broadside on Twitter, suggesting that the real cancer for the Republican Party is weak Republicans who only know how to lose gracefully. This is why we are losing our country, she wrote.

Democrats in the US House of Representatives are mounting an effort to formally rebuke Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a newly elected Georgia Republican with a history of making racist remarks, embracing conspiracy theories and endorsing violence directed at Democrats.
Democrats have teed up action Wednesday (US time) to send a resolution to the House floor that would strip Greene of assignments on Congressional committees, if the Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy doesn t do so first.

Congressional Republicans put their finger in the air, looked at the latest poll numbers, and decided, âSure Donald Trump is an insurrectionist, but heâs our insurrectionist.â
