It was during one of her rambles in the early days of the pandemic that Stefi Orazi came up with the idea for a walking guide to help people beat the sheer boredom of lockdown. Orazi’s background is rooted in the aesthetics of the built environment. Her eponymous studio has created print and exhibition graphics for cultural institutions including the V&A and Design Museum, while the blog that she runs on the side, Modernist Estates, has a cult following on Instagram, and has led to her writing various books on Modernist architecture.

Restaurant group MEATliquor has used the time its restaurants have been closed during lockdown to streamline its operations and make its offer stronger than ever before, according to managing director Scott Collins. When you ve got 11 restaurants, making changes to that rolling juggernaut is very difficult so having the downtime, I ve really enjoyed it. I haven t enjoyed the financial losses though. Updated Wednesday, 6th January 2021, 1:10 pm Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that all non-essential shops must close in Scarborough and across England from Wednesday at 0.01am. Non-essential retailers include clothing and homeware shops, car showrooms, betting shops, tailors, electronics shops, auction houses and market stalls selling non-essential goods. However, shops can continue operating click and collect and delivery services. Some businesses remain open in the Brunswick Centre Food shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, garden centres, and building merchants can all stay open. Businesses that provide repair services may also stay open. Banks, building societies, post offices, short-term loan providers and money transfer businesses can also remain open.
