As some Comal County residents return to a state of normal, there are still many struggling with burst pipes and other plumbing issues.
Along with the utility crews who have been working day and night during and after the storms, plumbers are out repairing the breaks, cracks and leaks.

âItâs definitely been some long, long days,â Nickolas Siry said. âThe jobs themselves are really, really tough. Service calls arenât the same as a normal service call. Itâs multiple repairs, multiple breaks. You can get to one customer and find out you might be there half the day changing out broken pipes so itâs definitely really hard to schedule. Thatâs probably the hardest part. We got so many customers. Other than that, itâs nice to be back at work.â
New Braunfels Utilities on Sunday afternoon lifted its boil water notice after the utility said it had successfully achieved system-wide Texas Commission on Environmental Quality minimum pressure requirements.

SAN ANTONIO – Power outages and broken pipes across the state of Texas are leading to water quality concerns for many municipalities. Millions of people across the state are under a boil water notice.
A Boil Water Notice means residents should boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions). To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. NBU has not offered a timeline when those water issues would be resolved.
Although communities neighboring New Braunfels are experiencing water issues, NBU said it does not anticipate there will be a need for a boil water notice. We continuously monitor the entire water system, a post on NBU s Facebook page said. âNBU will update its customers if there are any changes.â

Officials with the Canyon Lake Water Service on Wednesday morning said crews continued to work to restore service in the Lakeside Park, The Oaks, Rolling Hills, Ensenada Shores, Village West, Rancho Del Lago and Mystic Shores areas.
