Trump signs federal funding measure, bringing clean drinking water to Navajo Nation © Provided by KUTV Salt Lake City President Donald Trump signed a $2.3 trillion omnibus appropriations package Sunday, which included the Navajo Utah Water Rights Settlement Act that will help bring clean drinking water to residents in Navajo Nation.  The bill includes $1.4 trillion for federal spending and $900 billion for COVID-19 relief. The U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate approved the package on Dec. 21, along with the water rights settlement.  According to a news release from the office of the president and vice president of Navajo Nation, 40% of Navajo households in Utah lack running water or adequate sanitation.  In some cases, such as in the community of Oljato on the Arizona-Utah border, a single spigot on a desolate road, miles from any residence, serves 900 people.

(NASDAQ: CZR) ( Caesars or CZR ) today announced a definitive agreement to sell the operations of Caesars Southern Indiana to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians ( EBCI ) for $250 million, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. In addition, at the closing of the transaction, EBCI will enter into a new lease with year one annual rent payments of $32.5 million with VICI Properties Inc. (NYSE: VICI) ( VICI Properties ), who maintains ownership of the real estate of the property. As a result of this transaction, Caesars annual payments to VICI Properties under the Regional Master Lease will decline by $32.5 million upon closing of the transaction.
