The by-election to the Lingojiguda division in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation caused by the demise of BJP corporator-elect Akula Ramesh Goud even before taking oath kicked off a political storm in Telangana BJP. A delegation of BJP leaders called on TRS working president KT Rama Rao seeking his party’s support to facilitate the unanimous election of its candidate in the by-poll. The BJP fielded the departed leader’s son. The unanimous election is not possible only if TRS opts out. The BJP seems to have not made any such appeal to the congress, which is now considering contesting the by-poll. Yet, the BJP sought TRS support much to the consternation of political observers.

Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party has formed a three-member fact-finding committee consisting of three senior leaders to conduct a full-fledged “probe” into the reasons behind some of the senior leaders meeting TRS working president and Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao to seek support for electing a family member of deceased victorious candidate A. Ramesh Goud from Lingojiguda division of Ranga Reddy district without the consent of top leadership, in the Pragati Bhavan recently.

Congress leaders have alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao continues to deliberately ‘insult’ B.R. Ambedkar by not paying homage to him even on his birth anniversary.
At separate press conferences and events, the Congress leaders reminded that the power he enjoyed now was due to the vision of Ambedkar who incorporated the right for creation of smaller states in the Constitution.
Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy at a press conference in Hyderabad said Telanaga was a reality because Ambedkar foresaw suppression of regional aspirations by authoritative groups and ensured Constitution guaranteed creation of smaller states. Telangana was achieved with those aspirations but its beneficiary KCR doesn’t have the respect for the national leader.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday requested the Centre to expedite development of six airstrips in the State.
The Chief Minister requested when the Union Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola called on Rao at Pragati Bhavan today.
The Chief Minister’s request comes in the backdrop of the Telangana government s plan to develop airstrips at Mamunur in Warangal district, Basant Nagar in Peddapalli district, Adilabad district headquarters, Palvancha in Badradri Kottagudem district, Jakran Palli in Nizamabad district and Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district.
