Franklin County towns, along with others throughout Western Massachusetts, have received a $185,934 grant from the Massachusetts Office of Business Development and its Regional Pilot Project Grant Program to support the creation of the Western Mass ArtsHub, an online portal with information about local artists and creative businesses.
Lisa Davol, who manages the ArtsHub project through the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce where she manages economic development, place-making and tourism, said the Western Massachusetts Creative Economy Network, a collaboration of 21 organizations that support the creative economy, includes cities and towns throughout Western Massachusetts.

GREENFIELD Tourists visiting Franklin County during the coronavirus pandemic have had to find a new place to get information, advice or even just use the restroom.
Now the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new place to provide them with all three after COVID-19 prompted the closing of its visitor center last year.
Nature trail, outdoor classroom reopen in Alabama town of Phil Campbell, 10 years after devastating tornado
Ten years to the day after the storm, the Cecil Clapp Nature Trail and outdoor classroom is open again. A reopening ceremony took place April 26 at the revitalized outdoor classroom, which is now named in honor of former NW-SCC science instructor Joe Mack Alls. The Cecil Clapp Trail is named in honor of a former forestry instructor at the college.
“We are so glad that, with the help of our community partners, we were able to revitalize this unique part of our campus,” NW-SCC President Glenda Colagross said during the ceremony.
