There are more difficult and uncomfortable conversations and potentially stormy times ahead. But Pride is hopeful.
“I truly believe that we have a 100% chance of change, with strong winds of us rising together,” she said. “… This is not a sideline conversation, this is not a spectator sport… It has to be addressed in every sector, in everything we do.”
Pride is playing a key part in Franklin County’s various initiatives to counter racism, as the new director of the board of commissioners’ Justice Policy and Programs.
In addition to Pride, the commissioners this month named Damika Withers as chief economic equality and inclusion officer, a position established late last year.
