According to the Umatilla County Fire District #1 Facebook posting:
Shortly after 1:30 pm, Umatilla County firefighters responded to find a class A motorhome and the truck it was towing fully engulfed. Due to the high winds, the fire crossed the on-ramp and started a brush fire, which was quickly extinguished.
According to Franklin County Fire District 3, since the temps have heated up, the fire danger in the area has also increased. And, conditions are very dry.
And, with the Memorial holiday coming up, it s traditionally thought of as the first weekend of summer.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff s Office, the semi-crash happened around 7:30 am, just North of Mesa near Road 170 and State Route 17. The semi spilled the load in the crash. Emergency crews were called to the scene to extricate the patient from the wreckage.

The patient s injuries are unknown at this time.

Prosser Volunteer Firefighter Who Died From COVID to be Honored
Firefighter Lopez spent more than 12 years as a Volunteer Firefighter for our agency and left our department in 2018, when he moved to the Connell area with his new wife. After settling in, he began to volunteer with Franklin County Fire District #1 which provides emergency services to Eltopia, Mesa and the area surrounding Connell.
While at WBRFA, Firefighter Lopez responded to a staggering 1,613 emergencies and logged over 720 hours of training. Outside of emergency response, Firefighter Lopez was a frequent sight during station tours, public education events, parades and loved to dress as Santa Claus during the annual Holiday Tour.
