Greenfield Notebook: April 20, 2021 MARK Residents invited to review Open Space and Recreation Plan GREENFIELD The city is hosting a public meeting via Zoom to review a draft of its 2021 Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) on Tuesday, April 20, at 6 p.m. Members on the OSRP Planning Committee include representatives from the Department of Planning and Development, Recreation Department, Department of Public Works, Tree Committee, City Council, Cultural District Committee, Greening Greenfield and others, according to a notice from Allison Gage, land use and natural resources planner with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG). The committee also put out a survey to inform the plan’s update, and received about 270 responses.

Beginning Monday, anyone 16 years old and older who lives, works or studies in Massachusetts can receive the vaccine. On Saturday, Republican Gov. Charlie Baker said more than 2 million Massachusetts residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The state Department of Public Health said most residents received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. More than 201,000 people received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Also on Monday, a new coronavirus vaccine clinic has opened up at a Baptist church in Boston in an effort to reach communities of color hit hard by the pandemic.

The clinic, run by Franklin Regional Council of Governments’s Cooperative Public Health Service, will welcome everyone 18 years old and older. The state opened eligibility to everyone 16 years old and older on Monday, but the drive-thru at GCC will administer Moderna vaccine, which is not currently approved for those ages 16 and 17. Pfizer/BioNTech is the only vaccine approved for that age group.
