Lakes Region General Hospital, which has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, has received an offer from Concord Hospital to potentially acquire hospital assets. Concord Hospital also could acquire Franklin Regional Hospital and all other outpatient care locations under LRGHealthcare. The public hearing will be.

CONCORD, NH While U.S. coronavirus cases and deaths have been trending downward over the past week, hospitals across the country still report straining to meet the demands of the ongoing pandemic.
At the national level, during the week ending Jan. 25, deaths were running at an average of just under 3,100 a day down from a peak of more than 3,350 in the weeks prior, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. New cases were averaging about 170,000 a day after hitting almost 250,000 earlier this month.
Meanwhile, state health officials in New Hampshire reported to the federal government that 71 percent of all inpatient beds in hospitals across the state were still occupied as of Jan. 23. Around 8 percent of beds statewide were filled by COVID-19 patients, they reported.
Danbury crash claims driver s life
January 06, 2021DANBURY On Jan. 4 at approximately 3 p.m., State Police received a call of a motor vehicle crash with ejection in the area of 317 Eastern District Rd. in the Town of Danbury.
It appeared the vehicle was traveling north on Eastern District Road when the vehicle veered to its right and off the road. The vehicle then reentered the road, struck a guardrail and some trees. The operator was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The male operator, Kevin Ramsey, was pronounced dead on scene by Danbury Fire and Rescue as a result of his injuries. The female passenger, Sarah Westland, who was seat belted, was transported to Franklin Regional Hospital to be evaluated for possible minor injuries.

New Hampshire-based Concord Hospital has been given the green light on its $30 million acquisition of LRGHealthcare, a two-hospital health system that filed for bankruptcy in October 2020.
Judge Michael Fagone submitted the approval to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of New Hampshire s docket on December 24.
As a part of the deal, Concord Hospital will acquire the assets of Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital and the hospitals ambulatory sites. The order refers to the hospitals by their new names, Concord Hospital-Laconia and Concord Hospital-Franklin.
LACONIA â Concord Hospital is the sole health care institution interested in acquiring Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital and the hospitalsâ ambulatory sites through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, LRGHealthcare President and CEO Kevin Donovan said Tuesday.
âWhile LRGHealthcare received significant interest from other parties, no other party submitted a bid by the deadline,â Donovan said. âWe have always felt that Concord Hospital is a natural fit to ensure the continued provision of excellent care in the Lakes and Three Rivers Region, and we are excited about this step forward.â
LRGHealthcare has filed a motion in federal bankruptcy court to cancel a bankruptcy auction set for Wednesday. Multiple bidders present offers at such an auction, but it will not be needed as Concord Hospital has emerged as the only bidder.
