The squad features 16 players aged 23 or younger.
Four players made their Marsh Sheffield Shield debut last season and six players got their first taste of State one-day cricket.
“It was a great opportunity last season to get a number of games into those players. You expect some inconsistency with inexperienced players, but they held their own and this season will be another step forward for them,” Victorian Coach Chris Rogers said.
Riley Meredith s return to state cricket has been delayed in bizarre circumstances after Tasmania revealed the fast bowler would have jeopardised Victoria s season if he were to play in Wednesday s Marsh One-Day Cup clash.
Tasmania had expected Meredith to play against an under-manned Victoria in the 50-over match at Melbourne s Junction Oval, but the tearaway will now join Ben McDermott (hamstring injury) and Matthew Wade (rest) in sitting it out.

Victoria head to Perth following matches in Brisbane next week and having contact with Meredith would have complicated their entry into Western Australia given that state s border is closed to New Zealand, from where the paceman returned on Sunday after Australia s T20 tour concluded.
