The boxes were used extensively in the August primary and November general election in 2020 as many voters wanted to avoid voting in person during the coronavirus pandemic. These ballot drop boxes were installed outside West Hartford Town Hall. HARTFORD, Conn. At a time when other states are restricting voting, Connecticut took a step in the opposite direction Tuesday night as lawmakers approved a landmark switch to no-excuse absentee ballots.
