61 schools in Mayo will have broadband connected by the end of 2022, as national plan for schools is expedited Published: Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:43 Almost 700 schools nationally will be connected to broadband  within the next two years in an acceleration of the National Broadband Plan (NBP). The acceleration of the NBP will mean 61 schools in Mayo will be connected to broadband by the end of 2022, according to Mayo Deputy Alan Dillon. Under the originally-planned rollout, some schools in Mayo would have had to wait up to seven years for connection. Some schools in the Intervention Area will become Broadband Connection Points (BCPs), by the end of Q1 2021, receiving 150mb high-speed connectivity for educational access.
