Bolton House in Bolton Road, which used to be the Ring O Bells pub. Photo: Walker Singleton THE historic city centre pub Ring O Bells is back on the market - but now it as an office space. The Grade II-listed pub, which closed a few years ago after declining trade, was in Bolton Road and was the place lots of people in Bradford spent many a memorable night over the decades. However, since it closed down it has been transformed into a new, modern office space, and is now on the market for rent. Walker Singleton is advertising the property which is based just behind The Broadway in the centre of Bradford, has on-site parking, and 2,325 sq ft of office space.
A GRADE II listed city centre warehouse could be converted into a cafe and an apart-hotel if new plans are approved. 5 Manor Row is a vacant former mill warehouse, but the building has most recently been used as offices. A new planning application submitted to Bradford Council details plans to bring the building, which is a short distance from Bradford Forster Square rail station, back to life. The ground floor would be converted into cafe, while the upper floors would become 12 flats - a mix of three, two and one bed units. It says these flats will be used as an apart-hotel - a business that mixes a hotel with a fully fitted apartment.
A MULTI BILLION pound plan to create a new mass transit system linking areas of West Yorkshire could use abandoned rail routes. For the past two years, West Yorkshire Combined Authority has been working on a mass transit scheme for the region, and today more details about the hugely ambitious plans were revealed. Although exact locations of stops on the various routes have yet to be decided, the scheme would likely see a mass transit interchange in Bradford city centre as well as stops in areas without rail stations, including Heckmondwike, Cleckheaton, Junction 26 of the M62, “South Bradford” and Laisterdyke.
