Nationally, the deaths of 416 people were announced, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 47,399. Patients were aged between 32 and 102 years old. All except 15, aged 37 to 90 years old, had known underlying health conditions.

The charity, which sent some of the funds to Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said it was part of its ongoing commitment to supporting health services in the region. The funding will help staff training and morale and develop new infrastructure. So far, the £276,000 has helped to fund initiatives including nursing training and development programmes, NHS staff recognition awards and investment in new services and treatment units.
