Habitat Goldsboro to build home in Kinston, deadline to apply approaches
Four bedroom doors opened simultaneously when ToWanda Hagans began crying in her living room last summer.
Hagans’ home on Jefferson Street in Goldsboro flooded after Hurricane Matthew devastated Eastern North Carolina in 2016. After living in different homes too small for five people, the mother of four moved into her brand new home, with five bedrooms, in the Central Heights neighborhood on August 27th.
As Hagans wiped her eyes, her children, GaMelah, 14, George Jr., 11, D’Asia, 7, and Donta Jr., 3, exited their bedrooms, ran down the hall, and hugged their mother after she received a new home through Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne.
