A biostatistician and COVID-19 analyst is raising concern about Brantford General Hospital giving shots to staff beyond provincial guidelines for Phase 1 of the vaccine rollout.
Ryan Imgrund, a Brantford native who tracks the virus in Ontario for various health agencies, said on the weekend that he had heard from multiple sources that the hospital was offering shots to any unvaccinated staff and that people who don’t deal with patients had been vaccinated.

“The Ontario COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Plan has non-patient-facing health-care workers in Phase 2,” said Imgrund. “They list them after all adults in Ontario over 80 (years of age). Hospitals don’t own vaccines. The people of Ontario do.”
