President Akufo-Addo has appointed Joseph Makubu, a physically challenged man as the Regional Minister-designate for the Oti Region.
According to a report gathered by this portal, Mr. Makubu has been a grassroots member of the New Patriotic Party for decades now.
He has moved from an ordinary party supporter to occupy the position at the regional level.
Nana Addo s appointment comes as a shock to most Ghanaians especially indigenes of the Oti region. Joseph Makubu is currently the NPP Secretary of the Oti Region and a teacher by profession.
Akufo-Addo creates new ministry, re-aligning seven ministries

President Akufo Addo has announced that on Thursday he will submit to Parliament his first set of proposed ministers and regional ministers for the approval as the constitution demands.
In a statement from the presidency, signed by the acting Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin, the president has re-aligned seven ministries, Aviation, Business Development, Inner City and Zongo Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning, Regional Re-organisation and Development, and Special Development Initiatives whiles creating an entirely new ministry in charge of Public Enterprises.
The President has also entirely abolished the office of the Senior Minister whiles assuring that the number of ministers for his second term will not exceed 85.
Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. Richard Ebbah Obeng to serve as the Western North Regional Minister.
His name was captured in the list of 46 sector and Regional Ministers released by the President yesterday, Thursday, January 21, 2021.
He is to go through Parliamentary vetting to fully take up his role.

Residents of Western North Region have lauded the appointment of Mr Richard Obeng as Minister for the Western North Region by President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, a day after President Nana Akufo- Addo named him among 15 other persons as Regional Ministers, they described him as a grassroot person and the right man for the job and were hopeful he would deliver to the expectation of the entire Region.
Others said though they did not know him in person, but heard about his good works especially in supporting the education of tertiary students in the Region.
