Further concern raised over future of St Conal s Day Centre - Highland Radio

Further concern has been raised over the future of St Conal s Hospital Day Centre in Letterkenny. It s emerged that a man who was attending the centre for over 20 years has recently received correspondence stating that he was no longer under the care of the mental health team and the vital support he was receiving was being withdrawn. The day centre has been closed since last year due to the Covid pandemic but Vice Chair of the Regional Health Forum West, Councillor Gerry McMonagle says no plan has yet to be set out for its reopening:   The HSE has confirmed that no such decision on withdrawing the services as St Conal s Hospital Day Centre have been made and says there are no discussions of this nature within the Donegal Mental Health Service.

Further calls for responsibility for LUH car parking fees to change hands - Highland Radio

  There are further calls for the responsibility of car parking charges at Letterkenny University Hospital to lie with the Friends of the Hospital. It comes as figures show that the HSE collected almost 15 thousand euro in income from Letterkenny University car parking fees last year. The minimum fee for a space at the hospital is three euro. Local Cllr Ciaran Brogan who s also a member of the Regional Health Forum West says people would feel better paying the charges if they knew how the money was being spent:

Listowel SouthDoc services to be reinstated by end of the month

Share this article SouthDoc services in Listowel are to be reinstated by the end of this month. The out-of-hours GP service was one of four bases which closed in March of last year, as part of a consolidation of services in response to the pandemic. Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has told public representatives and Regional Health Forum members that Listowel’s centre will accept scheduled appointments in the latter part of the month. Fine Gael councillor and member of the Regional Health Forum Mike Kennelly says it’ll bring an end to people having to travel to other centres.
