05:57 EDT, 3 February 2021 Police have busted a suspected £1million county lines drug operation after dealers posed as key workers to fool lockdown patrols. Couriers allegedly delivered drugs - mostly cocaine - to 2,000 customers across Birmingham and Worcestershire by dressing up as care home staff. But the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (WMROCU) shut down the hotline. A 12-gauge self-loading shotgun was recovered as part of the operation and four men - aged 24, 31, 33 and 35 - have been charged with drug offences. Detectives also fear young people may have been groomed and exploited to supply the drugs - much of it to middle-class customers .

Philippe Campbell, age 45, of King s Lynn, appeared before Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday and was jailed for 12 years with an extended period of six years on licence. He had previously been found guilty of three counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, and three counts of encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence in King s Lynn between 1 September 2019 and 18 February 2020.

Police say the digital footprint left by offenders like Phillippe Campbell means they can, and will, be brought to justice. Campbell, 45, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court yesterday, having previously been convicted on three counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence. All the offences occurred in Lynn between September 1, 2019, and February 18 last year.
