(KAIT) - A 54-year-old woman died Thursday when her SUV collided with a semi-truck. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash happened at 6:25 a.m. On Route B, 5 miles east of Poplar Bluff in Butler County. Amanda L. LeGrand of Fisk was northbound when she pulled her 2004 Dodge Durango into the path of westbound 2000 Freightliner driven by Kyle J. Oberkramer, 30, of Broseley. An ambulance took LeGrand to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center then transported her to Regional One Health in Memphis where she died at 11:25 a.m.

(KAIT) - An investigation is underway after a Tuesday shooting sent a teen to a Memphis hospital. Blytheville police said in a news release that officers responded to the 500-block of East Rose Street due to a shooting. There they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from one gunshot wound. The teen was flown to Regional One Health in Memphis. He is said to be in stable condition. A change is happening at the top of Sweetwater Hospital Association (SHA). SHA’s Board of Directors and Scott Bowman have announced his upcoming plan to retire from his longstanding role of hospital administrator effective Jan. 1, 2021. SHA’s Board of Directors selected Ian McFadden, D. Sc., to be Bowman’s successor in the role of chief executive officer (CEO). Bowman has previously been employed by Woods Memorial Hospital, Epperson Hospital, and Athens Community Hospital. He began his journey at Sweetwater Hospital Association in May of 1976 as the assistant administrator and, after one year, was promoted to administrator. In 1977, Bowman, through a unique hospital-physician management arrangement, the first of its kind, was able to recruit medical specialties and sub-specialties to the hospital and community that are still in effect.
